The house
Another picturesque Victorian along Eland Road, situated over three full storeys with additional living space on the 2nd floor.
The Brief
The Clients main requirements for this project was the modernization and streamlining of the existing kitchen dining pace on the lower ground floor.
In addition to this, they also required a shower room on the upper ground floor in place of the existing study, the reconfiguration of the existing bathroom on the 1st floor half landing, the reconfiguration of the stairs accessing the 2nd floor and the full reconfiguration of the 2nd floor to create a master bedroom suite with en-suite and Juliet balcony.

The design
Conception Architects provided designs for the full reconfiguration of the lower ground floor living space, including the proposal of a large set of Crittall-style doors on the rear elevation to access the garden.
As required, the necessary bathrooms were proposed and reconfigured where necessary, making best use of the existing space.
On the 2nd floor a magnificent bedroom suite was proposed, including a large skylight in the roof that bathed the stairs in natural light. Proposing an internal set of Crittall doors to access the master bedroom meant that it could also benefit from the natural light whilst also providing a sense of privacy.
The dual aspect bedroom suite looked over the rear garden from the newly proposed Juliet balcony.
